Question: Why put a photo on my acting resume?

Answer: When Casting is sorting pictures, they will first look at your 8x10 headshot for all of 1-2 SECONDS, and place you in either the "no" pile or the "maybe" pile. If you are in the "maybe" pile, they will then go back thru and flip it over to read your resume for 10-20 seconds - about 10x longer than they looked at your 8x10. So you definitely want to have your face on your resume so that  while casting is reading your resume, they remember what your mug looks like! It's just good branding.

Question: Why should I keep a detailed audition log?
It is important for actors to keep a record of all their auditions, no matter how small or large. It allows you to be business-like and scientific about the process. Your audition log will help you answer questions like:
  • How many times did I audition last year? How many callbacks? How many bookings?
  • What am I doing well, and am I actually working on my areas of improvement?
  • What monologue is working best for me?
  • Which Casting Directors are my biggest fans?
  • Did I follow up and send a thank-you for that audition?
  • What the heck did I wear to that audition 6 weeks ago, because now I have a callback!

WHY DO I NEED TO STUDY ACTING?

A great face and personality only get you to square one. You wouldn't expect to win a gold medal in Olympic gymnastics just because you have good balance and the right build, would you? Working on your craft as an actor in a constructive environment, week after week, will put you miles ahead of the competition.

Your time and money are valuable, and you don't want to waste either. In our acting classes, you will:
  • Create a CURRENT demo reel (on-camera or voice over) that can get you work! Build on it with more scenes as you progress!
  • Learn how to set yourself apart. Start doing it immediately!
  • Learn how to help your agent help you - you are on the same team and both want to make money!
  • If you need an agent, learn how to get a good one. And what makes a good one.
  • Build up your repertoire so you'll always be prepared with a dazzling performance of just the right monologue or song.
  • Get all the right tools you need to be successful: Killer Headshot (and it's not about looking beautiful), Professional Resume (no matter how much or little experience you have), Demo Reel, Web Presence, and other Marketing Materials.
